Federation

The Chess Federation of Uzbekistan is a non-governmental, non-profit organization uniting chess players across the country. Founded in March 1996, its highest governing body is the conference, held at least once every four years. The conference approves the federation’s charter, elects and dismisses the president, and decides key issues. The federation brings together amateur and professional chess players nationwide. On June 13, 2023, the President of Uzbekistan issued Decree No. PQ-347 on additional measures to promote and develop chess, appointing the federation as the main executor. At the "Asian Chess 2023" summit in Abu Dhabi, the Chess Federation of Uzbekistan won three awards, including the title of Best National Team for its victory at the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai (India). It was also recognized for winning silver at the World Youth Chess Olympiad in Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan), while Uzbek chess players Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov received the "Tour d’Or" ("Golden Tower") award at the Tata Steel Chess 2023 tournament in the Netherlands.
