Asian Individual Chess Championship 2025 concluded on May 15 in Al Ain, UAE. The tournament brought together the continent’s strongest players, with the fight for medals continuing until the very last round.

In the final round, an all-Uzbek clash took place on board three: Grandmasters Nodirbek Yakubboev and Shamsiddin Vokhidov drew their game. This result secured 6½ points for Shamsiddin Vokhidov, earning him the bronze medal.

Thanks to his strong performance, Vokhidov also secured qualification for the FIDE World Cup, where he will represent Uzbekistan on one of the biggest stages in international chess.
